THE MARATHON FIELDED NEARLY 150 RUNNERS IN ITS FIRST YEAR AND RAISED OVER $17,000 FOR EACH OF OUR TWO RECIPIENTS — THE FRIENDS OF ROCKEFELLER STATE PARK PRESERVE AND THE NEW YORK NEW JERSEY TRAIL CONFERENCE!
IN 2022, WE WILL OFFER A NEW HALF MARATHON WHICH WILL ALSO START AND END AT ROCKWOOD HALL, AND WILL USE THE FIRST AND LAST PARTS OF THE MARATHON COURSE!
The runners who participated in 2021 loved the event! We enjoyed overwhelming local support from our sponsors and over 70 volunteers!
The race this year will be hosted by Run Wild, Inc., a nonprofit of race directors who use the proceeds from their races to support land conservation in the Hudson Valley.
Challenge Yourself On A Beautiful Course
This challenging and beautiful course begins and ends at the Rockwood Hall portion of the park overlooking the Hudson River and the Palisades. This is just off Rte 9 in Sleepy Hollow, next to Phelps Hospital.
Both the half marathon and marathon are single loop courses almost entirely on wide groomed carriage roads, and the marathon visits just about all of the signature aspects of the Park Preserve with a ton of scenic views.
The course CLIMBS A LOT, rocking and rolling past fields, stone walls and bridges, grazing livestock, rivers, forests and lakes. No pavement and no cars on the course!
There is an 9 hour time limit for the marathon, which will cap at 500 runners this year.
Walkers will start an hour before the runners start this year.
Early registration will open on 4/1/23 at discounted prices!!!
